Take a minute to let us know about your restroom experiences at work or elsewhere.
We want to inspire all food manufacturers to provide and maintain good quality, clean facilities for all their employees.
Why? Clean restrooms are not just a matter of convenience; they are a fundamental component of public health. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), poor sanitation is linked to the transmission of diseases such as cholera, dysentery, and typhoid, which collectively cause over 1.4 million deaths annually. Inadequate sanitation also exacerbates malnutrition and contributes to the spread of antimicrobial resistance.
The United Nations' Codex Alimentarius Commission emphasizes the importance of hygiene in food production facilities. Clean restrooms are essential for preventing foodborne illnesses, which affect millions of people worldwide each year. The International Association for Food Protection (IAFP) highlights that food safety professionals must ensure that food manufacturing facilities maintain high standards of cleanliness, including adequate and well-maintained restroom facilities.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reports that foodborne illnesses are a significant public health concern, with millions of cases occurring annually in the United States alone. Proper sanitation practices, including clean restrooms, are crucial in preventing these illnesses.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) both have stringent regulations and guidelines to ensure food safety. These agencies recognize that clean restrooms are a critical part of maintaining a safe and healthy food production environment.
Despite these guidelines, many facilities still fall short of providing adequate, clean, and well-stocked restrooms for their employees. This not only compromises the health of the workers but also poses a risk to food safety and public health. Ensuring that every food manufacturing facility has clean restrooms is a necessary step towards better human health and safer food production.
Clean restrooms are key to better human health. Every place that manufactures food must have clean toilets and enough of them for employees to use. Sadly, not all facilities are adequate, clean, or well-stocked. It's time to prioritize sanitation and make clean restrooms a standard in every food production facility.
We are measuring food safety and support for employees provided by their employees through comfort, and relief facilities. If they are doing well, we’d love to hear how well your company is doing.
