There are many ways in which you can volunteer with the Alliance for Advanced Sanitation. Education about food safety is key to developing a knowledgeable future generation.

Food Safe Volunteer Program:

Mission: To empower youth to learn about food, learn about food safety, share what they have learned with others, and create a more food safety aware community.

  1. Target Audience:

    • Food Industry Professionals: We invite food industry professionals from all parts of the food system to be involved in this volunteer program.

    • High School and University Students: This program engages students who are interested in learning about food, passionate about food safety and want to make a difference.

  2. Volunteer Roles:

    • Education Ambassadors: Volunteers can lead workshops, webinars, or presentations on food safety and hygiene.

    • Event Organizers: Plan food safety awareness events, workshops, or community outreach programs.

    • Content Creators: Develop educational materials, infographics, and videos related to food safety.

For example, an Education Ambassador may typically run a Day of Service which requires 3-6 hours of time, and 1-2 hours of prep time.

An Event Organizer may spend 3-8 hours a year organizing 1-2 events in their community.

Content Creators may spend varying amounts of time based on interest, platform(s) used and availability. Tell us how much time you are able to commit and tell us about your experience and expertise. And while you are at it, you’ll meet new people and have some fun doing something worthwhile!
